1:1 Affinity-based personalization

Affinity-based personalization refers to understanding user preferences on an individual level to deliver highly relevant recommendations on the website for maximum customer engagement.

Identifying user affinities involves a thorough understanding of user’s interactions with the products such as viewing or rating a certain product, adding a product to a wishlist, and searching for a particular brand, color, etc. All these behaviors provide valuable signals on customer’s personal interests, preferences, and intent.

To illustrate, Annie’s affinity profile in the picture below clearly displays her strong preference for colour red and category clothes based on her interactions on the website. With this data, we can personalize recommendations and display products that Annie will most likely engage with.

Module

The module combines one or more strategies and a template to create an experience. Modules enable you to set up one or more product recommendations on the web page. For example, you can set up “Similar Products” recommendations on the product display page by combining similar products strategy and carousel template to promote additional products from the catalog.

Experience

Experience is your customer’s touchpoint—the point of contact or interaction that your customer shares with the brand throughout the customer journey. An experience can be created at every touchpoint along the shopper’s journey through the e-commerce site.

Business Rules

Business Rules are manually configured filtering conditions applied on top of the model to target a specific subset of products. Only those products that match the filtering conditions are displayed on the module. You can configure multiple business rules as long as every condition is met and yields results to serve the product recommendations.

Journey

A customer journey is the complete series of experiences that your customers go through during their lifecycle and includes all of their interactions with your brand - from browsing to purchase to post-purchase. A journey is created by stitching together experiences created for multiple touchpoints.

Embed Code

Code snippet generated by Vue.ai that you can copy and paste on your website. The embedded code then displays the recommendation modules for the live journey on the website.

A/B Test

A/B Testing

A/B testing is essentially an experiment of comparing two or more journeys against each other to understand which version performs better against a specific goal. Conducting an A/B test means, splitting the traffic between different versions of a webpage, and statistically determining which version performs better for a given conversion goal.

Confidence

Confidence level allows you to define how confident you are with the A/B test results, thereby allowing you to make business decisions backed by data. 95% confidence is recommended as best practice. The confidence level governs the chance of a false positive. A 95% confidence level means that there is a 5% chance of a false positive.

Templates

Carousel Template

The carousel template allows multiple pieces of content to occupy a single space. They enable showing a collection of items one at a time. They are also known as slideshows or sliders. A typical use of the carousel is including scrolling product recommendations on your webpage.

Carousel with Tabs Template

The carousel with a tabbed interface allows the user to navigate through the slides based on tabs. On clicking one of the tabs, the carousel slides to the appropriate slide, and the current tab(highlighted)  becomes active.
